The board of Bridge of Hope BuxMont is excited to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director, Terra L. Harris.

Terra’s motto is “I must make a difference”.

Terra is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She was previously the Executive Director for Spring House, a transitional living program for women and their children. She has worked in the human services field for 20 years (in 4 different states) in various positions such as:  Director in an advocacy/ mentoring program which assist middle/high school students in graduating from high school and the Program Director for a residential female facility in Danville/Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To date, her most rewarding experience in the field was as a Probation Officer in Baltimore City (female only clients). The experience of being a Probation Officer was one she enjoyed immensely and understands without a doubt it prepared her for the other experiences in her career progression. She has obtained the following degrees: an Associate of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science.

Terra’s family includes: five adult children:  Mark, Monique, Tia, Lynette, and Malcolm; one younger sister Chuki; three nieces Zybriah, Kaiya, Chole; one nephew Che’ Jr; and her mother “Imogene” who she cherishes. She is a member of the New Psalmist Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland.  Additionally, she is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

In her spare time she enjoys entertaining (she lives to cook), the larger the group the better. Another hobby is decorating . . . she is a fan of all the HGTV, Food Network, and DIY channels and the like.

Terra began her work at Bridge of Hope BuxMont on Monday, October 19, 2009.
