Bridge of Hope BuxMont Mission Statement:

Ending homelessness for single-parent families in Montgomery and Bucks Counties by connecting them to professional case management and trained mentoring groups from Christian churches in order that the families achieve permanent housing, financial self-sufficiency, and family stability.

Staff

Steve Bauman, Executive Director

Steve was born and raised in the BuxMont area. He has been married to his wife, Andrea for 12 years and their family resides in Sellersville. Steve and Andrea have three amazing children; Josh is 8, Drew is 6 and Brielle is 2. He attended Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, Montgomery County Community College, and Temple University. Steve considers himself to be an entrepreneur with a passion for service.

Steve’s passion for serving and helping people developed as a young adult while he worked as a hospital orderly for 11 years. Steve’s passion for service has grown to become a very important part of his life. Steve and Andrea spent the first years of their marriage committing to a term of voluntary service in Dallas, TX. While in Dallas, Steve worked with Habitat for Humanity and quickly decided that serving and helping others would remain a part of his life. After returning from Dallas, Steve continued working in the building industry with T.H. Properties and moved up the ranks to become Senior Approvals Specialist. After T.H. Properties, he worked as Executive Director at Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County to lead the organization through a time of transition. Steve then went on to start a business, Keystone Shed Works where he has worked until he became the Executive Director for Bridge of Hope BuxMont in November of 2010.

Steve is a member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church and is active in their Young Adult Ministry. He has served on several Boards of Directors including Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County and Bridge of Hope BuxMont. The leadership skills which he has acquired through his experience as Business Owner, Executive Director, Senior Approvals Specialist and Board Member have equipped him well to lead Bridge of Hope BuxMont to serve the single parent families in Bucks and Montgomery Counties who are homeless.

Jennifer Bowden, Family Resource Coordinator

Jennifer Bowden is a 2002 graduate of Bloomsburg University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Jennifer began her career as a caseworker with the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth, and then pursued a position in sales before coming to Bridge of Hope Buxmont in January 2011.

Her social work background and Christian beliefs have given her a passionate commitment to family preservation and self-sufficiency for single parents. Jennifer’s goal is to successfully integrate the Christian faith and current social work practices with the help of our trained mentor groups, and by providing professional case management to clients.

Jennifer and her husband, Greg, remain very active with Bloomsburg University where Jennifer is the Chapter Advisor to the Delta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority. In their spare time, they enjoy volunteering, outdoor sports, home improvement projects and spending time with their two dogs! They attend Christ’s Church of the Valley in Collegeville.
